Jonathan David Anderson
Executive Director

Mr. Anderson is the Cornerstone Work & Worldview Institute’s Executive Director. He has management-level experience in businesses in Kentucky and Illinois. The new Director was a board member of Covenant Classical Academy in Louisville, KY. Mr. Anderson served on the Institute’s organizing committee in 2019-2020.

His previous management experience includes positions at Aisin Electronics, Marion, IL (Purchasing Specialist, Electronic Components; 2019-2021), and Spectrum (Charter) Communications, Louisville, KY (Sales Operations and Sales Support for Commercial Small/Medium Business and Enterprise customers, and Manager of Service Recovery & Compliance, 2007-2019). He was honored in 2016 as the Charter Communications Distinction Award Winner.

Mr. Anderson served as an ordained deacon at Community Presbyterian Church (PCA, 2015-2018) of Louisville, KY, prior to moving to the Carbondale area. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Boyce College, Louisville, KY.

He and wife Stacey have been married for 13 years and have six children. They make their home in Carbondale, IL. They are members of Cornerstone Reformed Church (CREC) there.

Roy Alden Atwood
Educational Adviser and Organizational Consultant

Dr. Atwood assisted the Institute’s organizing committee and governing Board during the program’s early development. He continues to serve as an educational adviser and organizational consultant for the Institute through his consultancy, the Nicea Group, of Moscow, ID.

Dr. Atwood has held numerous university-level teaching, research, administrative, and consulting positions in the USA, Europe, and Africa. He is the Co-Founder & Director of the Nicea Consulting Group, Moscow, ID (2019-). He is a Distinguished Professor (2017-) and the former Vice Rector (2017-2019) at Nehemiah Gateway University in Albania. Dr. Atwood was the founding President (2004-2015) of New Saint Andrews College, Moscow, ID. He served as an Accreditation Commissioner for the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges & Schools (TRACS), Forest, VA (2010-2014). Twice he was selected as a Senior Fulbright Teaching & Research Scholar: to Warsaw University, Poland (1991), and to North West University, South Africa (1998). He was a tenured professor (1984-2000) and Director (1995-2000) of the School of Communication at the University of Idaho, Moscow, ID.

He holds a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the University of Iowa, IA, an M.A. in Religion (Systematic Theology) from Westminster Theological Seminary, PA, and a B.A. in Philosophy from Dordt University, IA.

Dr. Atwood has served as an ordained teaching elder in churches in the Pacific Northwest (USA) and served as an interim pastor and teacher in churches in Albania. He & wife Beverlee have been married 48 years and have two married children & 12 grandchildren. Their permanent residence is in Moscow, Idaho, when they are not navigating between Carbondale, Illinois, and Pogradec, Albania. They are members of Trinity Reformed Church (CREC) in Moscow, ID.

Marla Brunaugh
Board Secretary and Administrative Assistant

Marla Brunaugh is the Cornerstone Work & Worldview Institute’s Administrative Assistant, leads the new student services, and serves as the secretary for the Board of Directors.

Marla is an Illinois native and has lived in Southern Illinois since 1989. She served as a secretary for the Baptist Student Ministries outreach to Southern Illinois University campus in Carbondale. Marla taught two years at a Christian school and has homeschooled her own children.

Marla holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She and husband Nathan have been married 25 years, have seven children and a growing number of grandchildren. They are members of Cornerstone Reformed Church (CREC) in Carbondale.
